I think one of the biggest factors was demand, since somephonos using the shemmy also agreed it was becoming a Discord server. And Carl posting on the Zarty got some traction but I don't know how much of the userbase likes/supports zellig
Also, shilling and every underage/HTSM-quoted migrant from the Sharty given the Swinny is somewhat similar but with a stricter culture and ruleset

trve, I think the biggest aspect of the swinny is it filled a niche in the community that needed to be filled at various times. Its first real bump in popularity was when doll banned 'oxxing, then after that as an alternative to the current state of the 'arty.
For the nutty to do something similar is difficult though, as most of the community seems to already have their niches filled. normies use the sharty, anti-degenerates use the swinny, and different tiers of degenerates use the chinny, fooey, or nushemmy. It's too bad because the nutty actually has a dev that gives a shit unlike the swinny but it's sort of redundant now, unless it can find a way of meaningfully filling a niche for other users

I was shilling the swinny (in a plan to revive better soysphere alternatives) for a long time by breaking into sharty gamenights and convincing people to read on sncapedia about quote and his janny cabal, thought no one cares and its just snca.
